Marketplace rules
Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of CarMata. By using the service, you agree to follow these rules and all applicable laws.
Last updated: 1 July 2026
1. The service
CarMata is an online marketplace where private sellers and dealers may create used-vehicle listings and buyers may browse them. Unless we expressly say otherwise, CarMata is not the buyer, seller, owner, dealer, inspector, financier, insurer, or transport provider in a transaction.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract. Keep your account secure and provide accurate information. You are responsible for actions through your account and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
3. Seller and dealer responsibilities
- You must own the vehicle or be authorized to list it.
- Price, mileage, ownership, condition, accident, flood, service, finance, insurance, and other material facts must be accurate.
- Photos must show the listed vehicle and must not violate another person's rights or expose unnecessary personal information.
- Dealer members must act within their organization role and authority.
- Material changes may return an approved listing to review.
4. Moderation is not a guarantee
CarMata may review, reject, pause, archive, or remove listings, but moderation does not guarantee a vehicle's identity, ownership, quality, safety, legality, history, value, or seller reliability. Dealer labels describe account type and do not mean “verified dealer” unless CarMata explicitly introduces and awards that status.
5. Buyer responsibilities
Buyers should independently inspect the vehicle and verify ownership, registration, encumbrances, insurance, service and accident history, seller identity, price, and transfer documents before paying or committing. Never rely on a listing as a substitute for professional inspection or legal, financial, or mechanical advice.
6. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, impersonation, stolen vehicles, or misleading listings.
- Malware, scraping that harms the service, or security bypasses.
- Harassment, discrimination, spam, or unlawful content.
- Manipulating reviews, moderation, prices, or marketplace activity.
- Using another person's personal data without lawful authority.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant CarMata a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute it as necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and promote the marketplace. You confirm that you have the rights needed to grant this licence.
8. Suspension and service changes
We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, non-payment of future fees, policy violations, or service protection. Features may change or be discontinued. Where practical, we will provide notice and a way to seek review.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, CarMata does not warrant uninterrupted access or the accuracy of user-submitted listings and is not responsible for independent transactions between users. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Privacy, disputes, and contact
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. These terms are governed by applicable Indian law. Before formal proceedings, please contact support@carmata.com so we can try to resolve the concern. Courts and consumer forums retain the jurisdiction given to them by applicable law.
